GreenFit is a project designed to accelerate the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices by addressing key barriers faced by farmers. It brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of research institutions, technology providers, agricultural stakeholders, and community organizations. The project harnesses cutting-edge technologies including AI-powered decision support systems, IoT sensors, drone-in-a-box systems for crop and soil monitoring, and extended reality (XR)-based training tools.
GreenFit goes beyond technological solutions by strengthening digital infrastructure, promoting value-chain cooperation, and driving behavioral change within rural communities. A strong emphasis is placed on building capacity through hands-on workshops, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge-sharing platforms. A notable feature is the LLM-based AgriChatbot, which supports farmers in real-time decision-making, complemented by innovative soil and crop health tools.
By embedding climate resilience into agricultural value chains, the project aims to achieve long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability. Its community-led approach ensures that rural actors take ownership of the solutions, enhancing both local impact and scalability. GreenFit is positioned as a key initiative to empower rural Europe against climate risks while fostering economic opportunity and sustainability.
As coordinator, DReVen ensures the overall strategic and administrative management of GreenFit, maintaining technical and data coherence, overseeing quality and risk management, and guaranteeing compliance with legal and ethical standards. In addition, DReVen leads the development of the project’s Knowledge Sharing Platform, an online centre for training, capacity building, and peer exchange among rural stakeholders. It also designs and implements pilot and training activities across diverse agricultural contexts and guides the feedback and improvement process, ensuring that solutions are adapted to real-world needs and can be scaled effectively across Europe.
