AdapTICCA aims to support the Region of Attica in advancing from a predominantly risk-focused climate adaptation approach toward a participatory, action-oriented, and transformative climate resilience process. Building on existing initiatives and assessments, the project is structured around three interconnected phases.
Phase 1 focuses on developing a system-wide diagnostic by mapping existing climate risk assessments and adaptation plans, identifying gaps and opportunities, and conducting in-depth stakeholder analysis. The findings will be validated through regional workshops.
Phase 2 shifts toward co-visioning and pathway development. It engages a broad range of stakeholders to co-create a shared vision for a climate-resilient Attica, supported by a tailored Theory of Change, inclusive processes, and digital tools that facilitate structured dialogue.
Phase 3 translates this vision into implementation-oriented outputs. These include an updated Climate Resilience Strategy and Action Plan, a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning framework, and a practical Adaptation Investment Plan aligned with the Adaptation Investment Cycle, ensuring readiness for financing and long-term impact.
DREVEN has an active role in supporting the Region of Attica, contributing extensively to all three phases of the project. Leveraging its expertise in climate risk assessment and adaptation planning, DREVEN will play a key role in the development of all project deliverables. Furthermore, DREVEN will design and develop a user-friendly online platform to enable stakeholders to co-create and discuss alternative adaptation pathways and visions. The platform will serve as a space for structured dialogue, enhancing transparency, inclusiveness, and trust.
