Accelerating the sustainable production of advanced biofuels and RFNBOs - from feedstock to end-use

FUELPHORIA aims to establish sustainable value chains for advanced biofuels and Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBOs), contributing to electrification and replacement of fossil-based heat and fuel across buildings, industry, and the transport sector in alignment with the REPowerEU (europa.eu) -REPower EU Plan. Collaboration among key stakeholders ensures a steady supply chain, from feedstock provision to end-product transportation, while also addressing technical challenges and introducing innovative business models. With a focus on testing nine value chains in Europe and exploring market opportunities in Africa, FUELPHORIA paves the way for a more sustainable energy future.

DReVen plays a key role, leading the evaluation of FUELPHORIA value chains through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC), and Social Life Cycle Assessment (s-LCA), by assessing environmental, economic, and societal impacts. In addition, DReVen establishes the development of value chain mapping for advanced biofuels and RFNBOs across four FUELPHORIA DEMOs in Belgium, Spain, and Greece, providing critical insights and identifying market opportunities to facilitate commercialization and scale-up of these renewable energy solutions. Finally, DReVen develops and maintains the Data Management Plan (DMP) to ensure GDPR compliance and adherence to FAIR principles.
