REHUBS aims to empower rural and small/medium local communities to enhance their climate resilience, promote their twin green and digital transition and contribute to the broader goals of climate adaptation in Europe. REHUBS will leverage technological, social and business innovations, focusing on digital technologies, Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), and Circular Economy principles, to boost local communities’ adaptive capacity, while supporting socio-economic development and environmental sustainability. The project will provide rural communities with a deeper understanding of the regional climate dynamics and local vulnerabilities, and will introduce a portfolio of cost-effective, scalable, and innovative adaptation solutions tailored to their needs.
As part of the REHUBS project, DReVen is coordinating the overall implementation of the project, ensuring technical consistency, timely delivery of outputs, and effective collaboration among the 26 consortium partners. At the same time, it leads the development of key digital components, including the Climate Risk Assessment model, the Risk Assessment and Adaptation Platform, and tools that enable the integration of environmental data into local decision-making processes.
Additionally, DReVen is responsible for the design and implementation of the AI-powered support chatbot and contributes to the development of the online academy, both of which aim to support capacity building and knowledge transfer in rural communities.
Finally, DReVen oversees the deployment and validation of the REHUBS solutions in one of the Demonstration Case areas, coordinating local stakeholder engagement and ensuring that the tools developed are applicable, effective, and scalable in real-world conditions.
