The scenarios include potential water supply and demand conditions aiming at the optimisation of the operation of the Projects system, as well as the rational exploitation and sustainable management of the water resources of the area. Furthermore, a system was designed for the monitoring of the projects, water, soil and ecosystems. Based on the systematic sampling and analysis, the soil monitoring system provides information on ever changing parameters such as nutrient status, organic matter, biodiversity and heavy metal pollution. The system is in agreement with the Directive of the EU 2000/60/ΕU.
